Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Third Party Billing Acceptance
My company is currently developing a website that will host sales for many different merchants (businesses and organizations.) We would like to be able to offer the customers of these merchants one easy method of online payment by credit card directly to us, not the individual merchants. Are there any legal ramifications (bonding)or special licenses needed if we are to collect all the money from these sales, subtract a fee, and then forward the proceeds to the individual merchants? Would there be any additional legal responsibilities if the said merchant was a non-profit charitable organization?
Thank you so much for any help you can provide.

Re: Third Party Billing Acceptance
You are now setting up a new business that you certainly want to be successful and profitable. My recommendation is that you set up an appointment with a qualified attorney to discuss all aspects of the business you wish to set up and let him/her guide you as you begin and move forward. May save you much money and frustration later.
