Pet Rent and Deposit

Is it legal for a landlord to charge a monthly pet rent charge in addition to having already charged an extra depoit for the pet? This seems bogus.

Unless it's in your rental agreement or you subsequently agree in writing to the additional monthly charge, the answer should be "no" if the landlord knew of the pet when you moved in.
