Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Plumber damaged countertop
I had a plumber install a sink. He damaged my countertop and he said they will replace it - but not the whole countertop; just one portion and it wont match because it is too old. He said i have to pay to have the rest done if I want it to match. Do I have any recourse. I have pictures.

Re: Plumber damaged countertop
It appears that you would have a claim for the damage to your counterpart but that the plumber is willing to compromise. You would likely have some case against the plumber but unless you have a very expensive counter-top, you would be unlikely to rise above $7,500 jurisdictional damages limit for small claims. You could request complete restoration of the counter-top and back it up with a small claims action. Small claims assistance is available through most county online self-help pages on the web, or you may wish to speak to an attorney. Good Luck.
