Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Police Reporty Mandatory for id theft
My ex opened an account with Dell and bought a $3K computer. I reported to Dell and submitted notarized affidavit and demanded copies of documents, application, shipping etc. They wont give to me until I give them copy of police report. My ex was convicted 2x for assaulting me and I am not going to antagonize this violent person. I've told Dell over and over and have given them all other info. What can I tell them to make them give me a copy of their file so I can defend my claim? Thank you

Re: Police Reporty Mandatory for id theft
Being believed as an identity theft victim requires a police report. The police must allow you to file the report. If your ex goes berzerk upon receiving legal papers, get a restraining order.
