Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Purchase of a pure breed dog

We purchased a purebread do in Bakersfield for 1500.00. Within 64 hours the puppy got sick and cost about 300.00 with coiccidia which my vet said had to have been present when the puppy was purchased. After asking the breeder to pay these medical bills we were sent a letter from a vet which said (a dogs name) and her puppies had been tested for coccidia and it came back negative. The dogs name was not the mother of the puppy we were supposidly sold. That mother and farther had extensive pedigrees and is why we agreed to pay the 1500.00 for a show dog. This litter of puppies were the only litter at the kennel and we now believe that not only was the puppy sick when we bought it but it is also not the from the sire and dam she advertised it as. We have the original contract and the breeder has no copy as I have not sent it back yet. What legal rights do we have if we have fallen in love with the dog and dont want to return it but we were fraudulently sold a dog with totally differeny parents that what we were led to believe and is listed on all the contracts? If we wanted to keep her from doing this to someone else what city would we have to file in hers of ours?.

Re: Purchase of a pure breed dog

-You can sue to obtain the difference between what you paid and the actual value of the dog. You could sue in Kern County small claims court.
