Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Purchased engagement ring from a relative/jeweler but did not recieve goods

I had given my uncle who is a jeweler in California money to make me an engagement ring. I kept getting excuses why the ring was not finished in the time he said it would take. Six months after I sent him the money and nine months after he was supposed to have started the ring I finally told him I wanted either the ring finished or my money returned. I called and left messages for him almost once a day for about a month but never got any return phone calls. When I finally did get a return call he said he would return my money but it has been three months and I haven't seen any money. Is there anything legal recourse I can do to get it back? There were no contracts signed for the work. It was all done in good faith being he was a relative.

oral contracts are just as enforceable as written contracts. the oral contract with your uncle sounds to be either express or implied by conduct, therefore, you have many causes of action available to you based on the facts you have given me so far. for further assistance in getting your ring or monies owed back asap, contact me today. You do have a valid suit against your uncle. You will have to file a claim in small claims court. This means that you have to come to CA for the day.
