Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I purchased a washing machine 6 months ago from sears and three days later the hose that they installed burst, there was a cut in it. It damaged my carpets, hardwood floors etc. It has been 6 months and I have been going back and forth with Sedwick, the company that handles Sears claims. They replaced the hose, then took the old one to inspect. They sent it to Whirlpool, Whirlpool sent it to the hose manufacturer. They are all pointing fingers whose fault. I think it was the Sears delivery company. Nobody will take reponsibility, nobody will get back to me. How long do I have to file the claim. I don't want to file our homeowner's because we have a $1000. deductible and I don't want to get stuck with it. Can you tell me what I should do?

Filing with your homeowners doesn't abandon your rights against Sears and everyone else involved. You should file with your homeowners. They will put the screws to everyone else involved.
