Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
A question regarding California Consumer laws. I was given a couple of gift certificates for massages that I wasn't able to use due to pregnancies and really inconvenience of the business location. I was aware that laws prohibit expiration dates in this circumstance. E.g.: one store location. non-food. non-reloadable... it does state on the certificates an expiration date, exactly one year after purchase. The certificates expired in 2005 and 2006. I took my sister and used them and was denied from using the certificates and end up paying with a Visa, ultimately resulting in double payment. Can I take them to Small Claims just for the principal of the matter and win?
Thank you.

If you can find the laws on non-expiratin you should win in Small Claims. I doubt that you certificates will still be valid after that long.
