Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
I recently bought a motorhome in California. When I went to transfer the title I found out the vehicle has $710 in back impound fees owed on it. I am going to ask the seller to pay those fees. If he is unwilling to pay those fees do I have a case in small claims for that money? I've been told by many people that he is responsible for those back fees. Thanks!

If the fees were incurred while he was the owner [and are not from some prior owner and he did not know about them] then he ertainly is responsible for them and his failure to tell you about the fees is a fraud. He let you believe you were buying the vehicle free and clear of any liens or debts.
