Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Refunding a customer money
If I had a customer that was dissatisfied with my services, but kept the product am I liable to refund their deposit or any additional fees that they incurred due their dissatifacation.
I sell wedding invitations and accessories and one of the brides that I worked with. Their order went terribly wrong. They gave a deposit of $300 which did not cover the entire cost of all the items they ordered. They invitations were late and they didn't receive their accessories. They say that they are going to buy accessories and expect me to reimburse them for their expenses as well as they deposit they paid on the invitations they received.
My policy states that I don't give refunds once the products are printed. I also don't give a guarantee.
What is my obligation to refund their deposit or any additional fees?
