Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
How do I register a vehicle that I have, that was previously registered with a Dishonored check, by the previous owner, and the California Department of Motor Vehicles is saying that I am liable to pay. I didn't write the check nor did I own the vehicle,at the time the check was written.

To get it registered, you will have to pay all the past due fees and then sue the prior owner for fees that were his or her responsibility.
