Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Release Liability
Hello- I am having some work done on my home and I wish to have a release of liability signed between us and the contractors in case of injury. What form is best? How do I phrase it?

Re: Release Liability
A licensed contractor will have liability insurance and workers' comp insurance, so in the event of injury everyone is covered (assuming you also have homeowners insurance). Check the license status of the contractor, and verify the insurance certificates directly with the insurers (I have seen fake ones), and you should not require any extra releases.
Re: Release Liability
Also, if the contractor brings any "helpers," you should verify their status and make sure they are contractors with their own coverage or employess for which he has workers comp.
