Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Repo
On July 13, 2004 I purchased a car. At the time of the purchase I was in bankrupcy the dealer knew. My bankrupcy will not be discharged until August 23, 2004. Because the bankrupcy have not been dismissed the dealer said that they could not get financing, but according to my contract I thought. On Friday July 30, 2004 the Repo men came to my job and asked me to remove my personal belonging from the car. I left work with the repo men I asked them to drop me off at home to remove my belongings. On the way home one repo man rode with me the other two followed. On the way home I flagged down two police officers and asked the repo man to be removed from my car they obliged. I have parked the car and would like to know what can I do to now. I've called the dealer but my calls have not been answered. What is my legal standing if we have a contract.
