Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Repossesion/voluntary surrender of a defective vehicle

What can i do as a consumer as i purchased a used vehicle that has broke down on me numerous times and I do not wish to continue paying on this vehicle as it is not worth it? i've been advised to let it get repossesed because the car is only worth $10,000 and i owe $20,000. the dealership took advantage of me and my bad credit and when i bring it in for servicing they insist that the car is fine and working properly... what recourse do i have if any?

Unless they in some way by the contract or you can somehow approved fraud, youre stuck with the contract and will have to pay the full price for the car. If you trade-in or it is repossessed, they will sell the car at auction and deducted the net proceeds from the amount you owe. The only other option, would be to check to see if the car falls under the lemon law. In order for a car to qualify, it would have to have a warranty.
