Return of deposit
I received a deposit for the purchase of my boat. i've told fifteen plus people the boat has been sold since receiving the deposit. now the prospective buyer wantes to back out. Am I required to return the deposit considering all the prospective buyers I've turned down. The boat went into the trader on friday. he put the deposit on Sat. and told me today he didnt want it.

Unless there is documentation to the effect that the deposit is non-refundable, you have to give it back.
