Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

r.v. storage - monsoon damage

We store our rv at a campground where we have a membership. We signed a release of liability prior to storing. They opened a new storage area after that paper was signed. They placed our rv in that area, a monsoon hit, and water was above our gas tanks. We have been unable to access the rv due to water and mud. It has been 3 weeks. They say they are not responsible because of the liability paper signed. That storage area was not built when we started having our rv stored. Is there anything we can do?

File a claim with your insurance company, if you have insurance.

Re: r.v. storage - monsoon damage

You may explore filing a claim with your insurance company, but I also believe you have some options available to find the R.V. campground liable. The release of liability is often not bullet proof. It's definitively worth having an attorney review everything to get a better opinion. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me.

Warmly,

Bryan
