Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

yes I signed a power of attorney over to a debt resolution company and a contract stating I cannot back out. I gave bank info to them to withdrawl in 2 weeks and they withdrew in 1 week. I had to stop payment at the bank but the contract was for 50 dollars a month for 3 years of debt resolution (power of attorney). I still want to use them however I put in writting that I did not want to use them at the moment and did not want them to use the power of attorney. A local lawyer mentioned to do this. He said that if they have provided no services, that I am not legally bound. But what if in the fine print it states that one cannot back out?

Am I free, or should i wait to see?

Powers of attorney are revocable. In my opinion there is no such thing as a contract that won't let you back out. Personally there are better and more sound and secure ways to resolve debt that some of these debt resolution companies.

If you breach there may be damages but there may be issues with the contract itself. You may need to hire an attorney but I have to tell you that at 50 dollars per month over three years that equals about 1800 that will be paid out. I wonder what your total debt amount you are trying to resolve is? If it is 1800 pay it your self.. Something does note seem right here...
