small claims
Is it possible to find out how many times an individual has sued other people in small claims. If so, how?

Most courts in California have at least of their records online. You should look at the court's website to see if you can do a name index search for the name of the person you are researching. You can usually tell by the case number and classification if it is a small claims matter or not.

Yes. You can go to the office of the Clerk of the Small Claims Court in every courthouse and search on the index for the name of the person listed as a plaintiff. There is no central index that I know about.
