Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Small Claims
Verbal agreement was made between myself and a computer technician. He offered to upgrade my computer for $500.00. Including labor. He asked for the money upfront to purchase the necessary parts and I gave him the entire amount of $500.00. He agreed to fix the computer as soon as he purchased the parts. This was strictly a verbal agreement. My wife was a witness to our verbal agreement.
It has been 4 months and he has not repaired my computer.
He refuses to speak with me and he never returns my calls.
The big question is ''What is my legal recourse right now???''

Re: Small Claims
Verbal agreements are just as binding in this case as written ones. Sue him in small claims court for the $500.00, plus costs (i.e., filing fees, and service of process fees).
