Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
standard terms and conditions
Several months ago, I changed an airline ticket purchased on Priceline and they charged me a $50 fee (setting precedence?). Then just recently I purchased a rental car for a month for $577. Both times, I initialed off on the standard terms and conditions. The day after purchasing the rental car, I tried to cancel the next day. They would not accept my cancellation over the phone and informed me I need to email Priceline customer service. The day before the scheduled pickup, I still had not heard back from Priceline Customer Service so I called the rental car company directly and confirmed cancellation. The rental car company still had me reserved, appreciated my call of cancellation, and returned the car back into their rental pool. I still have not herd from Priceline.
What grounds may I have for return of my $577?

Re: standard terms and conditions
There are two distinct services offered by Priceline, its Name Your Own Price blind bidding service, and its regular "shop and compare" travel site. From your post I suspect the airline ticket was a "shop and compare" travel purchase, and your rent-a-car purchase was evidently a successful Name Your Own Price bid.
Name Your Own Price rent-a-cars are non-refundable, Read The Friendly Contract, no whining. This was the bargain you made, and you are out the $577 fair and square.
