Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

What is the Storage companies responsibility when it comes to their customers stored property?

CALIFORNIA

I had a 10 by 40 foot storage unit rented for 6 months while I was in transit. When I went to start moving the contents I had stored there, the lock I installed was gone and another lock was now there. After the manager cut this stangers lock off. The entire contents, a 6 bedroom home of items, was completely gone. We concluded the theft had to take place 3-4 months prior since the door was still painted shut from when the owners painted the property. Later we found out this section didnt have cameras and the gates only close during late night hours. We dont know if it was the day laborers I used to move, dishonest property owners or a random act. Who can I go after to get my items replaced?

I would think your contract outlines liability, but I suspect that you are responsible for the loss. Maybe your insurance covers this?
