Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Today I received a court order effective 8-02-2010. Can someone please help me understand what the judge wrote. "The plaintiff request is denied without preturile to plaintiffs abilities to seek courts redress. Explaination: Should defendant in some fashion fail in compliance. If I get this from the court can an attorney help me win my case. I am trying to sue a furniture store for not delivering my furniture. I never received my product. I am trying to do this by myself and I think I need an attorney at this point.

It is not clear, but my guess is that the defendant said they were going to deliver the furniture and if they do not then you can sue again. That does not make any sense as to what a court would do. Without prejudice means that you can re-file the suit as long as it is not barred by the statute of limitations; if the defendant does not do what the court ordered you can sue again.
To really understand what is going on, I would have to see what is in the court file [most counties will have the filed material on their web site and you need to know either a date of hearing, party name, and/or case number. Some counties however do not copy most of the material. If you want to give me those three bits of information and the name of the county you filed in, i can see what is on line and if I can help you. I will look at the court file for free, but would charge you thereafter for any additional work.
