Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Unethical business practice
I purhcased a 2003 Mazda Protege5 on Novemebr 26, 2003 that had a $2500 factory rebate. I was preapproved through my credit union and I began negotiations on a sales price. I was quoted $17723 and I accepted. When I was looking over the contract the sales price was listed as $20223 and I inquired about the different price. I was told that the $2500 was added because I had to pay the sales tax on the rebate. Then later down the contract the rebate was taken away thus cancelling out the rebate altogether. I never received my rebate. I mad contact with the dealer after after I realized the error, but I only received more fast talking. All I want is to renegotiate the contract so I in fact get my rebate. Please let me know my options. Thank you.
