Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
Unknowingly bought stolen property. How do I get my money back?
I bought a bike off craigslist for $800. Two three months later, the police showed up at my door and recovered the bike as stolen property. The bike had been through various transactions and authorities have the thief who first stole the bike from the shop by using stolen identity in custody now. Can I file a small claim on the original thief who stole the bike and receive my money from him?
