Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Western Union Tranaction-Details About

Does the Sender of funds via Western Union have the right to be told, if they inquire:

a) The exact location the Receiver picked up the money

b) The identifying information on the ID the Receiver presented as proof of personship (is that a word?? haha)

c) The type of proof it was? (exp: Driver's License, Identity card, etc.)

d) Who issued the ID which was presented?

e) Phone number of the Receiver--if WU asks for one of the

Receiver..don't know if they do.

f) Was it a cash or money order pay-out?

I was defrauded in an ebay Auction--Phony address, name, etc. WU says they only release the above information to the Police. I say it's my money, my right to know where my money went & if I choose to hire a PI to find this man I need, as well as a right, to know this information. Thank You!

Re: Western Union Tranaction-Details About

You will have to file a police report and possibly a law suit to get your money back. WU does have to release some of this information, but not nearly what you want.
