Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
who whould we be suing?
We bought a sectional from a retail furniture chain almost a year ago. The piece was custom made and has been defective from the beginning. The piece has only been in our home for a few weeks as the company has picked it up twice for repairs (the last time in April) and it is apparently still at the factory being repaired. We want our money back and are prepared to sue the company in small claims if necessary. We have just learned that the store has recently been sold and the new franchise owner says that we will have to go after the previous owner. Is this true?
