Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
work on well pump
A company said they would charge 100.00 labor plus parts to repair pump on well. Stated this several times. As they were leaving again they stated that price. I received an invoice for 200 labor plus parts (ridiculous prices) I telephoned and they insist I owe them 200 labor. No estimate was given prior. No signature on either side.
Do I have to pay them the 200 labor. Could they put a lien on property.

If there was no estimate, it is your word against their word. For an extra $100, I would pay them, consider a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and move on with life. That is the best you can expect.
