Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

$600 ballys membership now $2000 after seven years!

I incurred this debt almost seven years ago. I feel that it has turned into a monster. I hate to pay even close to the total debt amount as I never got to use the membership after it went into default and even then I don't recall ever truly understanding that they were going to oan me the amount of money to pay for the membership. What do you suggest. Please advise. Thank you.

You might want to have an attorney review your agreement. If you received no notice of renewal and made no payments within the past 4 years, it's possible that the health club can't collect, as the statute of limitation for a written agreement is only 4 years. It would be worth the short consultation for peace of mind.
