Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
8 year old debt
I had a credit card from 8 yrs ago and now I've gotten a call from a law firm stating that there is a judgement against. The card has been charged off. Is this judgement possible? It was originally $350.00 and now they say they are going to garnish my wages for $1700.00+. I have just moved to Colorado.

Re: 8 year old debt
Judgments in CA are good for ten years, renewable for 10 more years and so on. They'd have to establish the judgment in Colorado in a proceeding to give it full faith and credit. More that that would require a private consult. You may contact me to do that but you may need a Colorado lawyer.

We would have to review any documents you have. Do you have a copy of the judgment. Were you served with any documents?
