Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

i am 18 years old and i bought a hotel room under my name and had about 10 people there when a man who i know but am not friends with, and was drunk and high on drugs came uninvited to the room and made damages to the outside fire extinguishers. the hotel is now charging me $440 for the damages, am i responsible to pay?

As between you and the hotel, yes. However, you can file a small claims lawsuit against the man to reimburse you for the amount you had to pay the hotel.

I don't get why you would be liable for the outside fire extinguishers, especially since you didn't invite him. But you could lose, and if you were held liable you should sue him. Would you in the future please purchase homeowners' or renters' insurance to handle liability claims like these, you are lucky the claim is not much larger.
