abstract of judgment

Should I file an Abstract of Judgement against a Judgment debtor to collect monies awarded for a Small Claims case.

That is the first step generally in collecting a judgment. You should have an abstract issued (or more than one) by the Court, and record that abstract in each county in which you believe the debtor owns property of any type. Next, you will want to set a judgment debtor exam, and find out where the debtor banks (or if you know, get a levy and attach the account before s/he can move the money out of the bank), works - then get a wage garnishment order, etc...
