Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Accident with no insurance

The insurance company sent the bill to a claims agency. And the man at the agency says if i don't have to money to pay them. you get your license taken away until you can pay the the company back in full. Or 10 years. Also is it true if you have gotten a DUI with injuries you cant file for bancrupcy.

Re: Accident with no insurance

First, you dont tell us what type of bill. I am assuming this was a car accident and you had no insurance.

If you do not pay them, they may be able to get a judgment against you. Once that is done, they can report you to DMV. DMV will then suspend your license until you pay it in full. I have written about this at my blog, www.calpiblog.com.

As for the bankruptcy issue, consult with a bankruptcy attorney.
