Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

The account in which monies kept before lawsuit is over?

When an attorney's fees are paid when he says you pay me when the job is done; this money is usually kept in an account? What is it called?

I think what you are describing is a "contingent fee" attorney fee agreement. When the lawsuit is over, the money goes into the lawyer's "client trust account" and the lawyer provides the client with an accounting. Client trust accounts are subject to many rules, and woe betide the lawyer who improperly handles trust funds. If you think your lawyer has mishandled money he or she is supposed to be keeping in trust for you, contact the State Bar of California (calbar.ca.gov).
