There are two ways: retain an attorney, or do it yourself. There are many attorneys in California who will represent consumers for a reasonable fee. Depending on how the complaint is written, you might file a motion to strike, demurrer, or answer. Form answers can be found on the Judicial Council website. But, because you might have affirmative defenses, you might be doing yourself harm if you just checked the boxes.

Pay the money or hire an attorney. In over twenty years I have never seen a credit card debtor win without an attorney.
