Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Please answer ... need help.

i dont understand how someone can sue you if you told them time after time that you were not working and , when you started a new job you called to start making payments the 2days after get papers in the mail from the court house.. how can that be? If i was UNABLE to make anytime of payment untill now , why would they start to suie me now... i dont get it please help...

Why would they care if you are working? All they want is your money. They hear whiny BS stories from people day in and day out. If you were sued, you need to either pay in full, or respond to the complaint in the proper legal manner. If the debt is more than 4 years old, the lawsuit can be beaten, but only if you fight it. There are other defenses that might apply. Bring the lawsuit to a consumer attorney in your area (not me, seeing from your zip code) and find out what if anything can be done.
