Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

authorize user would not pay

In year 2000,I authorized my partner as a user on a new credit card. To make things simple he was soley the user and the billing address was his. He promised to pay in full every month and will use the card for reservation purposes. A month later we broke up and later I told him in writing to pay off the balance and close the account. He spent more and was unable to make the minimum payment. The balance was almost $9000 in less than 3 months. To protect my credit I had to pay the card issuer. He wouldn't pay me and wouldn't sell anything he bought. What can I do?

Re: authorize user would not pay

All you can do is sue him for whatever you paid.
