Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
Bad checks
I have a small web design business. My newest customer has written me a number of checks and then turns around and puts a stop payment on them. Makes up a rediculous story and writes more to cover those and then puts a stop payment on them.
I'm having no luck a getting help and it's caused tremendous financial problems. I turned it over to a collections agency but they don't seem interested.
Please advise.
Thank you
Cherie

Re: Bad checks
first, i would advise you to go to the police and file a report. don't threaten it, (as that may be construed as extortion), just do it. then see what happens from there.
Re: Bad checks
I would advise filing suit, why wait? You can also obtain increased damages for bad checks.
