How to get a bad debt removed after you have paid it off to a CA

I have a company continueing to list my charged off debt, even though I have paid off the collection agency and they agree to remove it as one of the stipulations in my paying them. The original creditor is being very stubborn about not removeing it, even though it has already passed the CA SOL (4 years) in addition to being paid off.

They can report the account as charged off and paid for 7 years from the date of last activity on the account.
