Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

bank levy

I have recently had a levy placed on

my bank account. The amount of

funds in the bank at the time the

levy was served on the bank was

NOT sufficient to satisify the

judgement. I understand that they

can re-file to obtain more money.

Any idea how long it takes for them

to re-file? (I live in Los Angeles

County)

Re: bank levy

A Writ of Execution is valid for 6 months. The judgment debtor could request another bank levy at any time prior to the expiration date of the Writ. It really doesn't take long at all and that is why most judgment debtors move their account(s) to another bank after the first levy.
