Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
Bank won't repo the car
My boyfriend's car loan was charged off. It doesn't run and has been sitting in the driveway for 3 years now. He called the lienholders to come take the car or provide title. Obviously they won't release title, but they say the car ''doesn't have enough value'' to send someone to pick it up. We can't sell it with no title - how do we get rid of this car??

Re: Bank won't repo the car
I may have answered this previously - there was a very similar post not too long ago from the owner of a car with the same story. Anyway, there isn't much you can do, except to somehow have the car towed. At that point, the hauler will use a procedure available to him to lien the car and sell it for the towing fees. Otherwise, if the loan is through an auto dealership, contact the State department responsible for dealership licensing and see if they can help you.
