Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Bills

I have had two collection calls recently on bills that are 9 to 10 years old. I dont recall the bills and am wondering if there is a statue of limitations or if I have to research the bills as I dont want my credit harmed.

Re: Bills

You can send a verification letter. A sample can be found at my website at www.californiadebtblog.com.

However, you may also want to ignore them. The statute of limitations has probably run, but if they sue you it is up to you to argue that.

Re: Bills

There is generally a 4 year statute of limitation. We would have to review any letters that you received (or will receive) from this company. You may wish to call them and have them send proof of the bills. Please call me if you have any other questions.
