Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Is this really a breach of contract?

My sister in law took over the payments her parents were making on the condo my wife and I own. They(parents) were joint owners. They paid 250.00 a month. My sister in law started paying the 250. when her parents could no longer afford to pay. I did not talk to her parents. She now is suiung me for th e amount of money she paid us. She says it is a loan. I say she assumed the obligation that her parents had towards the condo. They had been paying this for seven years prior to my sister in law steppin in to make payments/ Only once did she mention it was a loan and as soon as she did I stopped taking her payments. Can I get help and from where?

Unless you agreed to a loan there is no obligation to pay.
