Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

My brother and his boyfriend bought a car together both names are on the contract. They split up 2 years ago and the X has the car, is not paying on it and they want to sue my brother because he is on the contract and the only one they can contact. Can he report it as a stolen car???

Ah what a mess. Yes, he can, but it is unlikely the police will do anything about it. AS far as the bank goes they will sue both but if they only can find your brother then he will get stuck with a judgment against him. Unfortunately he needs to get a hold of his X and they need to work something out. If not then he should cross complain against his X when he gets sued.
