Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Someone is calling my job saying I am being sued for monies owed from an online lender. They have my name, email, and last few digits of my social. I didn't borrow anything. What recourse do I have?

Wait to be served with the lawsuit. You have to be served personally or the papers have to be given to someone at your home over 18 years of age and a copy mailed to your home. If you are not served then ignore those crank calls. I seriously doubt that the police going to be spending time on those things, Make sure you do not give them more information than they already have. You can ask the person contacting you to send you something in writing so at least you know who is contacting you.
