Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

We were on the CalWorks program and I started receiving unemployment and during the next evaluation they determined that we were now ineligible for the assistance. They continued giving us aid for an extra month and now want us to pay it back. We did not know when the aid was supposed to stop, so we continued to use it for that month. We have their notice and it says "administrative error" as to why we received it that month. Will we have to pay back the entire amount that they say we owe, even with me being unemployed?

Yes. Sorry, but if you were overpaid, you owe that money back.
