Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
car leased ended, car turned over to collection agency as repossession, being ha
car was leased for 2years, when lease was up we were behind on two payments, we
decided to turn car in. We took car to local dealer they accepted car and gave us statement of charges,( two payments and milage, we had a broken tail light but our deposit was applied to tail light.) we then were contacted by collection agency 2 months later stating that is was turned over to them as repossession. I was
contacted at work and informed collection agency that I could not get phone calls at
work, They still called work, I sent letter informing them not to contact me at work. They had agreed that with all the paper work I submitted to them that the car was not
repossessed.
I was served on a civial case, I was informed that I could use a
meniation if the company agrees. I called company and left message to call me at
home. They again called me at work, more then once. They again agree it was not
repossessed but now they are collecting for money owed, but will not put this in writing.
I would like to know what I should do?

If you've been served with papers in a civil case you need to get those papers to a lawyer right away. If you fail to respond within the proper time period, you are simply going to lose.
