Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
Car repossession
I am thinking of doing a voluntary repo on my car. I do know it makes no difference on my credit, it's going to the dump no matter what. My question is - can they garnish my wages to recoup the balance that I will owe on the loan, or can I make arrangements with them to repay it? I do want to pay them - but only as much as I can afford and don't want them to get on my wages.

Re: Car repossession
Before they can garnish your wages, they need to obtain a judgment against you. That means they have to sue you. You may be able to make arrangments with them to repay them. You should call them and discuss this with them immediately.
