Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Change in agreement

I owed a credit collection agency 451.52. I had an agreement (with someone I think is no longer employed there) that I could pay in three installments. After paying it off they insist I owe them another 175 dollars (interest). And that it's due now. I demanded and insisted for something in writing and nothing was send and they said they couldn't do it. The agent I have been communicating with insists that she spoke to her boss and she mentions there is nothing they can do .They again refused to send me a letter verifying the amount owed until I mentioned that I needed in order to give it to an attorney. What they sent me was a handwritten fax saying what amount I owed and that it's due today (4/23/01.

What to do?

Thank You

Re: Change in agreement
