What happens? They ding your credit, you get sued, and they harass you for a long time trying to collect it. If you cannot make payments, I suggest you call them and try to work something out - even if it is only $10 or $20 per month.
Potentially, and I admit I have not seen this, but if you run up charges and you know you cannot pay them, you could be charged with fraud.

Beyond having impaired credit for 7 years, nothing. This assumes you are talking about a current credit card bill and not an ancient account someone is trying to collect.
