Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Charges for Unauthorized deliveries

I have a situation where a bottled water company refused to stop delivering their product to my doorstep after several requests to cancel. When we requested that they take their product back they said that because it was an ingestible product that they were legally unable to take the return and that we were obligated to use it. We also requested that they pick up their equipment and they took more than 6 months to collect it. They have now put me in collections for charges accrued after my numerous attempts to cancel and return their equipment.

I know that they are in the wrong, but is there something I can do about it legally?

Re: Charges for Unauthorized deliveries

Did you ever cancel it in writing? Do you have any proof you cancelled it? If so, send a letter to the collection agency with your proof. If you do not, it will be your word against theirs.
